The Future of Money, Governance, & the Law (with GBA)

Thursday, January 27, 2022, 12 PM to 1 PM EST

This event will occur over the course of two days. It is hosted by the Government Blockchain Association in Washington, D.C. in partnership with the Boston Blockchain Association. The meeting will provide data on the development of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) and will answer questions like what makes global banks important, what stablecoins are, and how they can affect national economic systems. On the panel will be Jim Cunha, EVP of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston; Mark Montoya, chief data officer at the Government Blockchain Association; and Suleiman Barada, senior advisor to the Union of Arab Banks.

Joining us for this event is former White House Communications Director and current CEO of SkyBridge Capital Anthony Scaramucci. In early 2021, during the height of the COVID pandemic, Scaramucci recognized the legitimacy of crypto and chose to establish a bitcoin fund for his clients. He has headed SkyBridge since 2005 and is here to answer your questions about bitcoin, politics, and anything else on your mind. The event is open and free to all.

This course is presented by Zoni, head of research at Footprint Analytic. The workshop features a deep examination of Defi and Curve Finance, a leading decentralized exchange. Attendees will focus on business models, mechanisms, token economics, and other factors often seen across Defi chains. They’ll also learn about what makes a good Defi platform and Defi investment methods.

Curve Finance took over Uniswap and is now the largest Defi exchange in the world, occupying about 30% of the industry.

Attendees received information about the newest trend of listing real estate on the blockchain. Sunday, January 2, 2022, 8 AM to 3 PM CST

This is an intensive online course covering all things blockchain. The course is perfect for beginners, though entrepreneurs, tech fans, and executives are encouraged to take part given how much there is to learn about this revolutionary new arena.

The course is offered through the “Blockchain Educators” group. All members of the group can take the course at a 50% discount. Those interested should sign up here. The 50% coupon code you’ll need at checkout is “Block50.”

Blockchain Real Estate | CitaDAO on DeFi Powered by Chainlink

Monday, December 20, 2021, 9 AM to 10 AM CST

CitaDAO has partnered with Chainlink to list real estate on the blockchain. The goal is to establish a defi ecosystem supported by real-world assets. Attendees of this workshop will learn how real estate data is being used to collateralize assets on the blockchain and how the real estate industry can benefit from this fast-growing technology.

Chainlink builds and sells oracle services required for powering hybrid smart contracts on blockchain networks. Chainlink works to provide these smart contracts with methods of connecting to external APIs and utilizing safe, off-chain transactions. Chainlink has secured billions of dollars for several industries including gaming and insurance by offering quick access to blockchain technology and applications.

We had a fantastic time last week thanks to the networking opportunity introduced by Women in Blockchain. The organization set aside a night in which blockchain enthusiasts could meet and discuss their interest in and knowledge of the space. Business and pleasure came together as individuals could chat about technical topics and make some lasting friends.

A monthly roundtable also gave attendees the chance to talk about several cloud-based issues including blockchain development and adoption. The roundtable featured several leading presenters sharing their unique blockchain stories.

In an industry still largely dominated by men, Women in Blockchain is taking a stance and hosting this special event to assist blockchain advocates looking to gain knowledge and meet those involved in the industry. Come and socialize for a bit. Connect with other crypto fans and learn how the industry is changing. This event is open to anyone, and IDs will be checked at the door.

**This event will take place fully inside. In line with current COVID-19 safety measures, masks are optional if you are fully vaccinated (proof of vaccination will not be required). If you do not feel well or have been in contact with someone infected with COVID, please stay home so attendees can remain healthy.
