We have another fairly quiet week in terms of meetups, which isn’t too surprising as everything remains primarily virtual for the time being. However, the employment scene for Boston-based blockchain professionals is definitely heating up. We expect as spring arrives (it isn’t far off!) there will be far more activity in the meetup and conference space as well. For now, it might be a good idea to polish up the resume or look into some learning opportunities.
In fact, if you’re looking for a way to fill some time and contribute to a worthy project, we have a BBA member looking for teammates for a digital challenge, to build the COVID mobile app for the Asian market. The app will initially be looking at safe distribution and tracking of administered covid-19 vaccines in 48 Asian countries. Their team has the ability to fill in the necessary data, but they need help in creating the mobile app itself.
The database, which ideally would have clustering by geographic location, is envisioned to be the basis for other future use cases with blockchain, e.g., when there’s a volcanic eruption in Java, Indonesia, would be able to track the safety of the concerned population in the affected area. Or when there’s a tsunami in the Solomon Islands, for example, aid donors would be able to trace that their resources are delivered to the actual, intended recipients.
The submission deadline is January 30, 2021, and anyone interested can reach out to Lily – firstname.lastname@example.org – with your details and to get more information.
